    Singapore’s green tax: Air passengers to additionally pay nearly $32 from 2026

    Singapore will implement a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) levy of up to S$41.60 per passenger starting next year to reduce carbon emissions. This charge, applicable to tickets sold from April 1, 2026, will fund SAF purchases, aiming for a 3-5% adoption rate by 2030. The levy varies by travel class and route, with transit passengers exempt.
